I am deeply passionate about full stack software engineering. This past summer of 2024, I completed a Software Engineering Internship at USAA where I expanded my work experience by contributing to a payments technology web tool. I have experience working with Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, React.js, Next.js, SQL, HTML, CSS, Springboot, and Git. I am also heavily interested in AI and ML, specifically with regards to LLMs with regard to how they can be used to build tools to enhance business and personal productivity. I enjoy working in collaborative environments where I can discuss and work with qualified professionals to build important and relevant applications.

My Experience
Software Engineering Intern
USAA
May 2024 - August 2024
- From May to August 2024, I worked as a Full Stack Software Engineering Intern in the Payments Technology Department at USAA. During my internship, I contributed towards enhancing an internal customer service tool that enabled developers and other USAA employees to view and manage members' connected bank accounts. I improved the user interface using React.js and implemented backend REST API calls with Java and Spring Boot. Additionally, I built a search component to retrieve bank account details using member IDs and integrated CI/CD pipelines, OpenShift deployments, and automation tools to support a successful product launch. Outside of my core responsibilities, I also participated in the AWS Game Day Hackathon hosted at the company.

My Projects
Personal Portfolio Website
For this project, I used React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS to build a responsive, SEO-friendly portfolio website. I leveraged React for dynamic content rendering and Next.js for optimized server-side rendering. The design features a clean, user-friendly interface styled with Tailwind CSS. I also implemented a functional contact form using the Resend email API with secure environment variables for API key management, demonstrating both third-party API integration and security best practices.
Fast Food AI Chatbot Application
I led a 4-member team to develop a full-stack AI-powered fast food chatbot for In-N-Out using Flask and spaCy, managing project planning and team coordination via Jira and Confluence. We used a Kanban board to ensure timely feature delivery. I applied ML-based NLP techniques with spaCy to process customer inquiries, enabling understanding of menu items, prices, and orders. I also built a dynamic menu system from a CSV file and designed a user-friendly web interface for seamless front-end and back-end integration.
Growin' Buds Application
I collaborated with a team of four developers to design and implement the user interface for a social media application for gardening. Using JavaScript and React Native, we built a dynamic, cross-platform mobile app that ensured a responsive and intuitive user experience. My focus was on frontend development, UI/UX design, and ensuring seamless integration across devices. We also uploaded the app to Expo, enabling easy deployment, testing, and distribution for both iOS and Android platforms.
Connect 4 Application
I collaborated with a team of three peers to develop a Connect Four game in MIPS assembly, deepening my knowledge of software and computer architecture. I gained experience with low-level instructions, memory management, and processor operations while implementing a UI/UX-focused graphical interface with bitmap graphics, optimizing software for graphics rendering within MIPS constraints.
